Outdoor Voices X Hoka One One Collab

April 27, 2018

As a longtime fan of Outdoor Voices apparel and Hoka One One running shoes, the news of their collaboration came as a very pleasant surprise! Aside from looking great – this partnership just makes sense. Both brands design distinctive products for fit folks and recreationalists who care deeply about quality gear that can take them through all sorts of adventures. Read on for a peak at the collection and the downlow on why these are brands to know – and love.

  • HOKA ONE ONE – The Hoka team is on a mission to make running easier for casual and comptetive runners alike by employing high tech cushioning that literally pushes you onward while still feeling light. I was initially skeptical because I’ve drunk some of the “less is more” Koolaid that discourages running shoes with the big soles, but once I tried a pair, my mind was changed. Although Hoka is still a young brand, the shoes have developed a cult following and become synonymous with premium cushioning that is hyper responsive and durable, and an ideal heel-toe drop that complements runners’ natural gait.
  • OUTDOOR VOICES – Similar to Hoka, Outdoor Voices has amassed a cult-like following since its launch in 2013. The brand has come to represent a take on active living that is lighthearted and enjoyable, never intense or overly competitive. OV’s badass, 29-year old founder Ty Haney explains it best, “At Outdoor Voices, our goal is to inspire more people to be active on a daily basis. We believe the future of athletics is not about being there first, but about showing up most often. By eliminating the pressure to perform, we’re building a community of exercisers who approach activity with ease, humor and delight. We call this Doing Things — and are committed to the highest quality apparel to get you out there”. Want more? Read Vogue’s profile on her trailblazing ways here.

  • Hoka X OV Running shoes – I am a genuine and ardent fan of Hoka One One shoes! I wear my Hupanas almost every day for runs or when coaching HIIT Bootcamps – they are seriously so good. Aside from my black pair, the colorways of most Hoka One One designs are quite bright and loud, making it tricky for them to be an everyday shoe that goes with my workout outfits. All that has changed with this OV collaboration and as a fit gal who also loves workout fashion, I couldn’t be more pleased! Shop my favorites below.
  • OV’s New Running Collection – This line of skorts, shorts and tops for men and women comes in the pastels and cheery heathered hues we’ve come to love from OV, with some new patterns and silhouettes.  Each piece feels light and like the only thing I want to wear on runs this summer.
