During my trip to Portland last weekend I spotted a lot of stylish shops and people. Amongst all those sightings, the item that really stood out was a super chic, metallic backpack I noticed on a women in the airport. Like a total stalker I closed in on her so I could see the label and after just 30 seconds on the State Bags website fell in love with all the travel, gym and lifestyle bags they make. Better still is that their bags are truly gear for good! For each backpack purchased, State hand delivers a backpack packed with essential tools for success to an American child in need. The company was founded by a Brooklyn couple determined to “make beautiful, well-made, inclusively cool product while using the power of business to give back and shift narratives around social injustices”. So far, State has partnered with the likes of Beyonce, Nordstrom and the White Sox to provide underserved youth with much needed school supplies and to energize them around setting positive goals for their futures. I love that mission and love cute backpacks because they allow me to maintain my back health while shlepping my stuff around and delivering style points! I’m currently crushing on the Bensen Dopp Kit for toiletries in my gym bag, the blush and olive green Lorimer pack for urban hikes, and the silver mini for looking chic in athleisure while I explore new cities on foot. How about you?
